Spring Break Nerf Battle

This was my favorite activity of Spring Break! Caden and I planned a nerf battle in our back yard, but the morning of, it was cold and rainy. Luckily my good friend Jen came to the rescue and got us the key to the church so we moved the activity to the gym. It was perfect!
First I had the boys draw out their "battle plans", then they battled it out. Sarah and her friend Elizabeth worked the nurses station tending to the injured soldiers.
We took a break for lunch then battled again. It was so fun to watch the boys having so much fun! I am so glad that Jen helped out with the gym because it even stated snowing while we were there. (spring break always has the craziest weather)
Here are the pictures I narrowed it down to. I know, it's a lot!
Enjoy

Happy 3rd Birthday.....
My sweet little Hannah!!
We love you so much!!!

Born April 11th, 2007
Sarah and Caden adored you, and still do.

Hannah makes us all so happy, and a little crazy sometimes, but mostly HAPPY!!!
EGGS-iting!
The kids really got into the EGGS this year. Hiding, finding, decorating, AND eating. They couldn't get enough. I think they cracked a few of the hard boiled eggs on purpose just so they could eat them up.

We used food coloring this year instead of the dye that comes in the little egg dying kits because I wanted brighter eggs...........also get brightly colored hands that lasts for days!

eating the cracked eggs.

A birthday wish come true!!!!
In the days leading up to Sarah's birthday I heard from several people that they'd heard Sarah was getting her ears pierced.
What!?!.....who had they heard that from........that was not on my agenda......
Of course, they had all heard that from Sarah, or their child, who had heard from Sarah.
I suddenly had a flashback to a conversation I had at Target with Sarah in the jewelry section right after kindergarten orientation.
Sarah: "Mom, how old were you when you got your ears pierced?" (as she is running her fingers along all the packages of earrings)
Me: " I think I was 5, right before kindergarten."
Sarah: "Ohhhhh"
That is seriously as far as that conversation went...at least out loud, who knows what the heck was going on in that head of Sarah's---because on her birthday we ended up at the mall, getting her ears pierced!
Going to the mall was already part of the plan because when I asked Sarah what she wanted for her Birthday she said, " go shopping at the mall"
What 4/5 year old asks to go shopping on their birthday?!?!?
So off we went and spent the whole day together at the mall. It was a wonderful day. Sarah was treated so well everywhere we went. I think she felt like a princess for the day.
Sarah's friend Londyn had been planning on getting her ears pierced too, so she met us at the mall for lunch and lots of girlie fun.

Sarah was so brave. Not a single tear!

So pretty

I was so impressed with how brave the girls were.

The girls also got matching shoes. Sarah thought it was pretty neat that they measured her feet.

What a fun day. Sarah has been really good and responsible about cleaning her ears everyday. She is so grown up.

Here are some pictures from Sarah's birthday...Finally!

I recently hosted a birthday/dinner party here for a friend. The kids helped me get the place all pretty and fancy (they LOVE to help with that kind of stuff). Sarah even went with me when I bought a lot of the stuff at Zurchers. She was in awe as we walked up and down the isles. She asked if we could have a fancy dinner party for HER birthday too! So that is what we did. We had so much fun picking stuff out at Zurchers--all GREEN since her birthday is on ST. Patty's day.

Sarah helps me fill all the candle dishes with water and place the floating candles in them. She even added some green food coloring to the water for her own special touch!

The GREEN table is ready for a fancy dinner!!

Thanks grandmalita for bringing this fancy jello!!!

Aunt Krissy took Sarah to build a bear for her birthday. Sarah had so much fun! Thanks Aunt Krissy!!!

Caden gave Sarah earrings, which she was just delighted about! He made her this cute little card that said, " Happy Birthday little Irish princess"

Sarah loved hanging out with uncle Todd.

I can't believe how much Sarah has grown since she has turned 5. She just seems so mature. In her mind, being 5 is a pretty big deal.
Often heard from Sarah-
"Oh, it must be because I'm 5 now that I can......."
We just love that little (BIG) girl!!!!
