Sarah got her training wheels off at the beginning of the summer. She rode around like a little speed racer, the only problem was that she would only ride if Scott ran behind her because she couldn't start or stop on her own. Our friendly neighbors noticed this and let her borrow a little tiny bike last weekend. Sarah took off first try and she has been riding ever since!!!!

Fun in the Sun
We had such a fun weekend!! We didn't have any big plans so we had fun hanging out together, trying to stay cool.
The kids had a bunch of their friends over. It was a SUPER hot day, but they manage to have fun anyway.

On Saturday Scott took the kids swimming while I tried to get some organizing done at home. It was 103....HOT! When Sarah got home she wasn't ready to stop playing in the water. She asked me to get my swim suit on and play swimming lessons with her in the sprinklers. How can I say no to that cute face. I did as asked and we had a wonderful afternoon together!

We sat on our towels, had popsicles and Sarah talked, and talked!!!!
Sarah taught me the proper way to wave my arms as we ran through the sprinklers.

Then after dinner, we were all outside again, this time on the slip 'n slide.
Caden had some pretty cool moves!

Sarah really got wet. I think she spent the entire weekend in her swim suit.

"Daddy, look, ant on top my finger."
Hannah found her favorite pass time....ANTS!!!! She loves to pick up ants.

Finally, the kids dared me to take a turn. Hannah put her cute little arm up in the air and started chanting, "go mommy, go mommy....." So I had to do it. AND, Scott didn't think I'd do it, so I had to prove him wrong. He thinks I'm so predictable.

Rainy day on the Boise River
Scott had the Friday before the 4th of July off so we decided to float the river. It was a super hot day so we thought it would be perfect. After Hannah woke up we headed down there. Scott saw some clouds off in the distance but I assured him they would never get to us. We got into the river and within the first half hour the clouds rolled in and it got pretty cold and windy. This did not bother the kids at all. They had so much fun. Even Hannah loved it and did so well. We started to feel a few rain drops so Scott an Caden stated to paddle SO FAST!!! We were passing so many groups of people. The wind was strong enough that a branch broke off a tree and fell in the river. (the kids were still loving it) Right when we got to Ann Morrison park and stepped out of our boat it started to rain. Lucky for us Scott got us out of there at record speed. Despite the rain, we had such a fun time!!!!!!!

Thinning the carrots!!!
love having a garden. It is such a fun pass time for me, and especially the kids. They go out and help me work in the garden every day. Our carrots were especially crowded so Caden and Sarah helped me thin them out.

They were pretty big so we decided to wash them....
cut them up.....
and eat them for lunch........YUM!!!!!

Spoiled
We are so lucky to live near grandparents who love and adore our kids. Grandma and Grandpa Smith designated a little spot on their land for the kids to plant a garden. We took the kids over there and they each picked out pumpkin and corn seeds to plant.

Here are the peas and Raspberries a few weeks later. Hannah and Caden LOVE to pick these.

Not many of Caden's peas actually make it into the bag though.
After the garden work is done, Grandpa takes the kids for a ride on his lawn mower. Caden even gets a chance at driving.
Sarah gets a ride in the back.
Sarah and Hannah enjoy a ride.
Hannah got too hot and decided to watch fro a shady spot on the patio.
Popsicles for everyone!!!!!!

All grown up!!!
It's hard to believe.....Summer is here and kindergarten is over. It seems I was just fretting over the BIG transition into Kindergarten and now I have to face 1st grade in a few short months. Where has the time gone?

I was so lucky to be one of the parent volunteers at field day.
It was so fun to watch the kids. It was a very cold day and we got rained out
half way through. Being kindergartners, the kids didn't have too high of
expectations for field day, so they had a blast all the same.
They moved the kids into the gym and let them watch movie and eat a popsicle.
They were delighted because this way they could find all their friends from other classes and afternoon Kindergarten. I thought it was a PERFECT day!

Soaking wet after a super fun, rainy field day!!!!
