Sad

Hannah has just been right at my heals lately. Is it an age thing? She just wants to be right with me. She always has her arms out saying, "hold, hold".

I had to give her something to do!!!! Stacking frosting cans was keeping her busy for so long!!!

Another thing Hannah is known for doing though is copying everything her big sister does, so when Sarah saw the camera, of course she had to dance and that is where it all went down for Hannah. Poor girl.

Monkey Jammies

To fully appreciate why I love this picture so much I should start off by saying that it was taken after nap time, meaning that she was in pj's all day. See, Hannah just got these and there was no way I was going to get them off of her. I took the kids to the store to get new pajamas. I was in the older kid area getting some for Sarah first when Hannah noticed these. She started to yell, "monkey jammies, monkey jammies", I grabbed the smallest size, 2T and headed over to the baby section. No monkey jammies! I showed Hannah all the cute jammies with birds and elephants.

"no, monkey".

Needless to say, we came home with really big monkey jammies.

Hannah is suddenly talking so much. She has a word for everything!I love it.

Be prepared

It is so amazing when our little ones give us little glimpses into the workings of their minds. Sometimes the things we hear them say help us realize that they really do listen and understand so much of the things we are trying to teach them.

I had to go to a meeting and I took Sarah with me. Having recently moved into our house, I was asked how we are liking our new home, to which Sarah replied, "our house is going to catch fire". I was not sure why she would say this, but before I could say anything Sarah piped up again, "but my Daddy has flashlights and backpacks".

Scott has recently been collecting items for our 72 hour kits and he has been taking the kids with him to purchase flashlights. We have had several Family nights on the subject of being prepared and Scott has talked to the kids about why we have backpacks with flashlights.

While Sarah might not completely grasp the concept of being prepared for the, JUST IN-CASE, and rather assumes that disaster WILL happen, I am so glad that our lessons are somewhat sinking in. In addition to this incident, I took Caden to pick out a gift for Scott and he took me right to the flashlights/camping section because he said that is the kind of stuff Daddy likes.

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

We love you so much!!!! I hope that you have a super happy day. We are so grateful for you.

Scott's Birthday was awesome!! The kids ha a blast. Caden really gets into parties and especially for Daddy. We went shopping and he took me right to the camping section, yes, he knew where it was. He told me that Daddy really likes to look at flashlights. After much searching he found the perfect gift. He got Daddy a wilderness survival kit. It came in a canteen. It included two LED flashlights, one was even hand rechargeable. He was so proud of his gift. He also got Daddy a soft BSU football so that they can play in the house. Sarah got him chocolates, and Hannah a BSU toy.

We went home and the kids went all out decorating the house. It looked so festive. When Scott got home we enjoyed a fun dinner, opened gifts, played football, an ended the night with Kung Foo Panda. It was an amazing night. Our neighbors even came over and sang Happy Birthday at the door. (thank you).

We are so blessed to have such a fun daddy and husband.

I gave Sarah and Caden each their own frosting tube and let them decorate away. They sure got a kick out of that.

Daddy picked French toast for dinner. We also had sausage and eggs and apple cider, daddy's fave. Since the kids absolutely love breakfast for dinner, this was a true party for them. As I noticed how happy they were I had a moment of clarity. I looked at Scott and said, "I was wondering why you picked french toast". He just gave me a wink. What a selfless man.

Among other things, Scott got a BSU mr. potato head. I think Hannah really picked this out for herself. As soon as Scott opened it she grabbed it from him and started to play with it.

Halloween activities

Halloween was really fun this year. It was the year of many costumes. It is a good thing we have an extensive dress-up closet to fit the changing moods of my fickle children. (Or maybe mom should try not to have such an influence on her growing children's decisions and let them make their own.....maybe they would stick to a costume they completely chose on their own).
With Caden in School now and Sarah in preschool, I felt like we celebrate Halloween forever!!! With every event, was a change of costume. We started out with Sarah's preschool party. she was a witch. Sorry, I have no pics, she was super grouchy and took her costume off because it was "too heavy". Next we went to Boo at the Zoo. It was a lot of fun. Caden was a night, Sarah, the witch again, and Hannah, a cute little lady bug because I thought it would be so cute, even though she pulled her doggy costume out of the dryer and ran around the room hugging it so tightly to her boy yelling, "goggy, goggy". I know, super cruel, but look at what a cute little bug she was. Next, was Trunk-or-Treat. Caden got to be the costume he originally wanted, a soldier, Sarah got lucky and a friend let her borrow her bear costume (after boo at the zoo she told us she did not want to be a witch anymore, she wanted to be a bear or monkey because she wanted to paint her nose and cheeks). Hannah was a lady bug again, but this time we made sure she understood that she was a bug, and since she likes to say that word, she was a little more excited. The fire alarm went off during the party so we all had to go outside and start the trunk-or-treating. The kids thought it was the greatest thing to see the fire men come in.
For his school party, Caden was a BSU football player. he got a lot of attention for that. I went in and helped out for his Halloween party. It was so much fun. I love to be in his class.
On Halloween morning, we had a little party for Caden and his Friends. Caden was a soldier, Sarah was Dorthy, and Hannah was a little Indian. The party was one of my favorite activities. I had a lot of Moms who helped and it turned out to be really fun. Finally for Halloween night, Sarah was a bear, Caden was a soldier and Hannah got to be the little dog she loves to be.

Dawn an Daniel came over with cute little Jenna, and Grandma and Grandpa came over to have Chili. The weather was beautiful and we had so much fun with the kids. Hannah was just so fun to watch. We sent her out with a little purse. She would march right up to the door and knock, when answered, she would hold out her little purse and say something that sounded like trick-or-treat, then close up her little purse, slide it on her shoulder, raise her little arm so that it didn't slide off, yell "kake you", then march right back down. It was just precious.

We only went to a few houses because surprisingly enough, the kids wanted to go back home so we could watch a movie together. Couldn't argue with that. It was a wonderful evening!!!

Halloween Party

Caden didn't have school on Halloween so I had a little Halloween party for him and a few friends. We had so much fun!!!! We started out by doing a bunch of dances.

It was so fun to see Hannah decorating her little house. She concentrated so hard as she worked her little fingers to pick up the tiny little candies and place them on her little house.

Five Little Mummies

I don't know why I change my background so much! now that I have a new picture of the kids at the top It was really bugging me that it didn't match. I think that this background is more fitting. I also don't know why I am worrying about such things when I still haven't even posted Halloween. I will get to it. I have just been feeling so overwhelmed lately that the simplest of tasks seem so daunting. Monday's the day, I can feel it. Pictures will be done by then.

Another game day

GO BRONCOS!!!

The kids have been begging us to take them to a game. They felt really left out since Scoot and I went to a couple and they stayed home. Scott searched and searched til he finally found someone who happened to be selling four tickets. YIPEE!!!! The seats were at the very top row in sec. 126, but the kids didn't mind. It was nice to have the whole back wall behind us empty. We had such a good time and the weather was really nice.

Caden's favorite part of going to the game is making signs.

Tanya and David are always kind enough to let us park in front of their house. We had lunch with them after the game.Thanks!!!!!!!!

I just realized that my sister had two files of pictures on the disc she gave me, so here are some more of our family pics. We had such a hard time getting Hannah to cooperate on the group shots so we don't have many of the whole family. Oh well, it was fun! Thank Dawn!!

Maybe someday I will get around to posting Halloween. I know some of you have asked to see the kids costumes.
