Mr. Peeps last days with us

As she does every morning, Hannah rushed downstairs to look for her Friend, Mr. Peeps. That is the first thing all the kids do when they get up. As the season progressed, Hannah got better and better at spotting him. A couple days before Christmas, Hannah was the first to find him. She was so excited!

Caden noticed that he had a note with him. Mr Peeps told them that they were so good that he brought an early present!!!!

The kids found their gifts---a new pair of boots for each! How convenient, it had just snowed the night before.

Hannah was so excited. She ran up to Mr. Peeps and said, "look peeps, boots, thank you".
She really loved Mr. Peeps and I often found her on her belly, staring at Peeps and talking to him.

My sweet little Caden couldn't let Mr. Peeps give him something without returning the favor. Him and Sarah put together little gift buckets with cookies, napkins and pens and left it in the tree for him to enjoy when he would come back to life that night.

Just like he promised in the note he brought on the first day he came, Mr. Peeps was in our Christmas tree on Christmas eve, and on Christmas he was gone. He left a note promising to return next thanksgiving. The kids were so sad that he was gone, but I think that Hannah had the hardest time with it. When Grandma asked her about it, she said,
"peeps home, Santa", then she got the saddest look on her face and almost started to cry.
It was so sweet. I am so glad that Peeps came this year and I am excited for next year.
